ASA Computers And Submer Partner To Provide High-Density Server Solutions For Immersion Cooling

ASA Computers and Submer's New Partnership

Partnership to help address today's challenges faced by data centers

SUBMER, a leading innovator in advanced immersion cooling solutions for data centers and Cloud and Edge computing, is pleased to announce its latest partnership with ASA Computers, a leading IT solution provider that has been delivering innovative systems to rack solutions across the globe for over 30 years. The agreement was forged out of a need to provide an alternative solution for the datacenter industry in decreasing energy usage and costs, increasing compute density, capacity (Power, Cooling, Space), reducing operating and capital expenses and more

The impact of the Submer and ASA Computers partnership

The partnership will provide ASA Computers with the perfect platform for its latest offering of servers. ASA HPC Triton® is the first high-density server built specifically for Immersion Cooling and will be fully submerged in Submer's cooling technology. The Triton® server is a custom-designed, custom manufactured, ultra-dense computing machine in a single 1U node with 6 GPU. This will provide Submer and ASA customers the flexibility to find the perfect hardware fit to solve critical business issues and run all of it in the most energy-efficient manner possible.

From a customer perspective, it gives the opportunity to purchase a full turn-key solution; compute and cooling system, from a trusted partner. Unlike other solutions in the market, ASA Computers have designed the first generation of servers specifically for Immersion cooling, overcoming potential barriers and challenges that occur due to retrofitting servers that were originally made to be cooled using air. The immersion-first approach of this solution means customers will also benefit from the best product support and warranties currently available for immersion cooling.

Submer's SmartPod technology, the company's flagship product that has been purpose-built to empower users to effortlessly scale their operations while simultaneously saving space and energy and increasing compute capacity. The SmartPod range is compact, with >100kW dissipation capacity and a 1.03 PUE. Accommodating 21" Open Compute and/or 19" HW and a flexible busbar system supporting multi-zone 12v & 48v configurations.

More and more data centers are rethinking their cooling strategy, with many now considering immersion cooling technologies. The immersion cooling market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 22.8% from 2020 to 2027. The market is driven by the rise in global IP traffic and the demand for supercomputers and hyperscale data centers worldwide. Immersion cooling offers data centers the ability to keep up with the increasing demand for higher power density along with many other advantages such as a reduction in CO2 levels, power usage and better Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

How will Submer help ASA Computers achieve their goal

"SUBMER and ASA COMPUTERS are bringing to market a solution that enables our clients to operate the next generation of immersion-born high-density computing systems that mitigate thermal challenges and increasing efficiency and sustainability. The perfect combination backed by the peace of mind brought by a server manufacturer that fully supports and understands immersion optimised compute architectures." Daniel Pope, CEO and Co-founder of Submer

"We're very proud of our partnership with Submer, they are known within the industry for being a leader in Immersion Cooling solutions. We are confident that the partnership will be successful for both the customers and ourselves. We believe that the combination of Submer's technology and our new ASA HPC Triton® server, is the perfect solution for those wishing to overcome the challenges that the industry is currently facing and future-proof their datacenter" Arvind Bhargava, CEO of ASA Computers

ASA Triton Server
Patent Pending United States Patent and Trademark Office

Often associated with high-density servers is the excessive heat generation and excessive cooling expense. Since Triton was engineered for Immersion cooling, the additional heat is a non-factor due to the effective cooling properties of the tank fluid that has a larger cooling surface area than conventional air-cooled datacenters. The operating temperatures are regulated within a specific range allowing for components and the overall system to perform in optimal conditions.

ASA TRITON Features & Benefits

• Multi-GPU (x6) optimized thermal designs for highest performance and reliability.

• Advanced GPU interconnect options for best efficiency and lowest latency.

• Leading GPU architectures based on NVIDIA GPUs and NVMe SSDs.

• Dedicated full x16 Bandwidth by taking advantage of the AMD Rome processor with 128 x PCI-e x16 lanes.

• Optimized for: AI / Deep Learning, Virtual Desktop, Scientific Research, 3D Rendering Farm, Blockchain and HPC workloads.
